About half way between SLC and Wendover, the salt starts in earnest – and the anticipation starts to rise.
About a mile out, is the Bonneville Salt Flats lookout point and we pulled in to step out onto the hallowed ground.
Both guys experienced ‘a moment’, marked with a Team Wildcard big hug!
Then we headed around the salts to the drive on spot and ‘the sign.’ There some of the Speed Trials volunteers were there, welcoming everyone in and holding everyone from getting onto the tracks that the course prep team have been working on all week.
Only at this point did Team Wildcard really feel that they have truly arrived...
